Overcome Economic Struggles, the Current Recession and your Personal Finance Struggles with a Positive Outlook

Appreciate What you Have and Good Things will Happen

Think about the Things you HAVE, NOT the Things you HAD

This is not a finance site or a place where we gloat about our wealth of knowledge when it comes to money or financial decisions. Clearly this is a health site. The thing is, whether you want to admit or not, finance and wealth are often directly tied to health and happiness. This is not to say that you need money to be happy by any means, but we do need to discuss the connection between positive thinking, finances, and overall happiness.

Sticking with the tradition over the past few days in terms of the power of positive thinking and daily affirmations, we have to discuss the power of the mind when it comes to finances. It seems that during this period of recession everyone is stressed out, anxious and even angry when it comes to their financial situation. People are being laid off, retirement savings are going down the drain, and everyone seems a lot more tense than usual. There is nothing we can do, right? Less money means more problems, doesn’t it? Anger and stress have to come with a lay off, don’t they?

It is time to kick that way of thinking. That does not need to be the way it has to be, and taking on financial problems in the opposite way can provide a number of benefits, body and mind.

Live in the Now

This cannot be stressed enough. If there is one thing you take away from this article today, it has to be this. By focusing on the positive things that are present in your life, and shunning negative thoughts of what you used to have, you will be opening yourself up for future blessings to enter your life. Focus on what you have, not what you had. Negative thoughts and anger over your lost job, failed promotion, or depletion of savings will essentially shut the door and prevent positive changes from entering. Negativity breeds and thrives on itself. On the other hand, a positive attitude and a positive outlook can attract happier moments and financial rewards.

Life is About More Than Just Money

Life is About More Than Just Money

Affecting Financial Security with Positive Thought

It is not a thought or opinion that many financial analysts will live by, or even support, but it really is becoming clearer that anger and negativity have an immediate impact on financial security. Faith and trust in yourself and the people that surround you is infectious. If you believe in yourself and feel that positive changes are on their way, so will other people, including potential employers or your current boss.

This thought cannot be stressed enough. There are many things in your life that you should be grateful for, even if you are struggling to pay the bills. Family, friends and current possessions should be valued and appreciated every single day. Angry that your retirement savings have been severely diminished? Upset that you were unjustly laid off? Stressing and worrying about it is not going to fix the situation. The past is in the past. It is time to turn a new leaf, focus on the future, set goals and get determined.

Be Driven, Get Inspired and Journey Forward

When times get tough it is easy to let go and almost give up. Always keep in mind that negativity blocks blessings. When you focus on the good things in life, and appreciate the things you have now, you can unlock blessings and more opportunities will flow into your life.

Friends, family, a positive outlook, and love are a stabilizing force, especially in the worst of times. Be prudent, be accepting, and be positive. Who would you be more willing to hire? Someone who is sulking about a lost job or an empty bank account, or someone who is goal oriented, possesses a positive outlook, and has an appreciation for life?

Love yourself. Love your friends. Love your family. Love what you have now, forget what you used to have, and reset your priorities. Your mind, body, and bank account will thank you later.

Top 10 Facts About Diet and Nutrition; The Facts You Need to Know for a Healthier Lifestyle

Meet your New Best Friends

Meet your New Best Friends

Healthy food equals a healthy life. That is a statement we hear all the time that simply cannot be argued with. Sure it can be hard to be on a strict diet all the time, or even stop from eating your favorite, guilt inducing foods. And it can be even more difficult to get all your facts straight when it comes to healthy eating and healthy choices. Living a healthy lifestyle will never truly be easy, but to help you take a step in the right direction we have compiled or top ten diet and nutrition facts that you should know. Read them over, contemplate them and take these facts to heart.

1.Your Body doesn’t need any more Calcium.
The truth is that Americans consume more calcium than any other society in the world, yet still suffer the most from diseases such as osteoporosis. Many of the supposed health benefits linked to calcium can be achieved through regular intake of Vitamin D. Also, too much calcium can lead to ovarian or prostate cancer. What many people do not realize is that calcium does not support or benefit the weight loss process.

2.Vitamins and Supplements do not Have the Same Benefits as Whole Foods
Taking vitamins daily can be extremely beneficial, but you still need the nutrition found in whole foods. Chowing down on Kraft Dinner and taking a multivitamin just doesn’t cut it. Make sure your diet is rich in beans, fish, grains and vegetables and you will be well on your way to a healthier body.

3.A Healthy Diet can Prevent Dangerous and Deadly Diseases
New studies have surfaced that show a healthy diet is actually more important in preventing and reversing diseases than genetics. A well balanced diet can reduce your chances of suffering from a stroke, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and even cancer.

4.” High Carb” Diets do not Lead to Weight Gain
The thinnest countries in the world follow some of the highest carbohydrate diets. The reason they remain thin is that they do not consume all the processed and refined carbs that are so popular in the western world. Remember that carbs are not the enemy and vegetables and whole grains can greatly increase your life expectancy.

5. Vegetables and Fiber are not the Same Thing.
Daily intake of fiber supplements can not replace the value of fiber-filled foods. These supplements will not have an effect on your weight loss goals or fight off disease.

6. Plants and Fish are the Best Sources of Protein
Red meat is not the be all and end all when it comes to protein. A balanced and diverse diet can ensure you get most, or all, of the protein you need. Fish and vegetables can give you all the benefits without the risk that comes hand in hand with red meat.

7. Man Made Fats and Fat from Animals can be Hazardous to your Health
Trans fats and saturated fats are directly associated with cancer, obesity, type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Finding ways to cut saturated fat from your diet and insert unsaturated fat could one day keep you alive. Skip past the processed meats and full fat cheeses next time you’re at the grocery store.

8. Fats from Fish and Plants are Beneficial
Polyunsaturated fats are being coined as an essential part of your diet, and a necessary component if you want to protect yourself from a whole host of ailments and diseases. Ingested in moderation they can reduce your appetite, benefit weight loss and prevent memory loss.

9. Vegetables and Fruits are good for your Eyes
The formation of cataracts and loss of vision is tied directly to your diet. A daily supply of fruits and vegetables can keep your eyes healthy for years to come.

10. Most Diet Trends will Create Short Term Weight Loss but won’t allow you to maintain it for the Long Term
Most of the diets on the market and that you read about in books and magazines will help you lose weight in the short term. However, your body will become accustomed to it and you will often gain the weight back over a longer period. If you want to be healthier longer you need to make a balanced diet a part of your entire life. Weight loss is a lifelong goal, not a short term solution.

Make a Commitment to your Body
Every day there are new trends, fads and diet plans surfacing. New information and studies are done all the time which can make it impossible to keep up on all the health related news and advice. However there are a few constants. Remembering these top 10 facts about diets and nutrition can help you stay on the right track. Make a life long commitment to your body and your mind. Implement small but beneficial changes to your lifestyle and stick with them. A healthy body is all about consistency and not about jumping from one diet to another. Get focused, get informed and make a commitment to your life, not just the next few weeks.

The Skinny Diet; Healthy Weight Loss That You Can Maintain

Aim for Healthy, Consistent Weight Loss

Aim for Healthy, Consistent Weight Loss

In an effort to help you weed out the scams from the truth and the fluff from the real content, we are going to spend the next few months reviewing and analyzing a number of diet plan trends. From the Atkins diet to the South Beach diet, you have probably heard it all. Some work and some do not. By logging in and checking in every now and then we are going to help you understand the most popular diet plans of today and whether they are safe and effective or unreasonable, unhealthy and over-hyped.

One diet plan that is causing a lot of buzz recently can be found within the book “The Skinny Diet: How to Fit into Your Little Black Dress Forever”. The skinny diet was written and put together by Robin Aronson and focuses entirely around portion control and actually savoring and enjoying the food that you consume. The point is that too many diet fads revolve around starving yourself or giving up your favorite foods altogether. While these may work in the short term, you are bound to fall off the wagon at some point and probably already have.

Throughout the skinny diet, Aronson stresses the need to live and enjoy life and your meals. Mixing the right amount of pleasure and guilt foods with control and will power can go along way to getting you to squeeze into that sexy little number you have left hiding in the closet for years.

The basic principles of the skinny diet revolve not around counting calories but instead learning how to eat the food you love and crave in smaller portions. There are no more forbidden foods and if you are craving chocolate ice cream, go for it. However just don’t eat a whole bowl and try to indulge yourself by savoring one scoop now and then.

The skinny diet is intended to work by teaching yourself to pick and choose which delicacies you want to eat. If you are stuck at a corporate buffet full of delicious and high calorie foods, then you need to teach yourself to just choose one or two that you love the most. Enjoy them, eat them slowly and savor all of the flavors. Eat just enough to cut back on the cravings and then fill yourself up with healthy alternatives. Of course these virtues need to be coupled with plenty of exercise in order to pay truly, healthy dividends.

The reason that the skinny diet is growing so quickly in popularity is that it bucks a lot of unhealthy diet trends that have surfaced lately. Aronson realizes and understands that there is no quick fix to weight loss and no real “lose 30 pounds in one week” diet fad. Weight loss takes hard work and dedication. However what she stresses is that this doesn’t mean you have to give up on the foods you love.

In the end the skinny diet is one of the healthiest new diet trends that have come out in recent years. There is no excessive calorie counting, starving yourself or simply consuming vegetable juice for three weeks. This diet is aimed at long term and consistent weight loss. If you are looking for a quick fix or are in a position where you need to lose a good 50 pounds in order to be healthy, then you may have more appropriate alternatives. However if you are just fighting those last few pounds and are trying to slim down your body a bit in time for bikini season, then the skinny diet may prove to be exactly what you need.
